This chain started as a small-scale hand held object like all my other designs. Then we enlarged it for the Munich Olympics (1972) - See next image. - This gave me the idea that all of my small objects could be enlarged in the manner Henry Moore had his moquettes enlarged by the foundry. This process usually eliminates the play option, however, it adds an additional dimension in the creative process, for myself and for the user. - While the Olympic TinkerLinks chain was fairly large in size, it was still a playable object.
